100 YEAR FIRM HISTORY
The Edris Law Firm, in Bluffton, Indiana, is closing its doors after approximately 100 years of law practice. The firm was originally formed in 1920 by John H. Edris, Sr. joining Judge W. H. Eichorn in the general practice of law in Bluffton. In 1924, the then retiring Judge Frank W. Gordon joined the firm, under the name of Eichorn, Gordon & Edris, which firm name continued until 1943 at which time Judge Eichorn began his second term as Judge of the Wells Circuit court. At that time, John P. Thompson joined the firm, which continued under the name of Gordon, Edris & Thompson, until May, 1952, when Mr. Thompson died. Following the death of Judge Gordon in October 1953, John H. Edris, Jr. joined his father and the firm continued under the name of Edris & Edris. In 1962, David C. Dale joined the firm and was made a partner in 1964, at which time the firm name was changed to Edris, Edris & Dale. In 1967, Jon M. Brown joined the firm, and was made a partner January 1, 1970. In 1970, Everett E. Goshorn joined the firm and remained with the firm until he was appointed as Prosecuting Attorney of Wells County in 1974 (he later was appointed as Judge of the Wells Superior Court). David L. Hanselman joined the firm in 1974 and was made a partner January 1, 1977. In 1975, Roy R. Johnson joined the firm and was made a partner January 1, 1978. In 1977, John H. Edris, Sr. retired from the firm and the firm's name was changed to Edris, Dale & Brown. David Dale left the firm in 1979 and the firm's name was changed to Edris, Brown, Hanselman & Johnson. David Hanselman left the firm in 1981 to accept the Governor's appointment as Judge of the Wells Circuit Court following the death of Judge Joseph F. Eichorn. The firm's name at the time was changed to Edris, Brown & Johnson. David A. Feeback joined the firm in 1981 and was made a partner January 1, 1983. In 1988, the firm's name was changed to Edris, Brown, Johnson & Feeback. Andrew K. Antrim joined the firm in 1988 and was made a partner January 1, 1992. A. Michelle Brown-Stohler joined the firm in 1993 and was made a partner January 1, 1996. In 1994, John H. Edris, Jr. retired and went "of counsel" with the law firm until 1999, at which time he left the firm. At the end of 2004, David A. Feeback left the firm and joined the Wells County Prosecutors Office. The law firm's name was changed to Edris, Brown, Johnson, Antrim & Brown-Stohler. In March of 2011, Andrew K. Antrim left the firm and joined the Wells County Prosecutors Office (he subsequently was appointed as Judge of the Wells Superior Court to replace the retiring Everett E. Goshorn). The firm's name at that time was changed to Edris, Brown, Johnson & Brown-Stohler, which remains the current firm's name. Trent M. Patterson joined the law firm in 2013 as "of counsel" and remained as such until his death in 2017.
